Huddersfield Pride 2019
Huddersfield Pride 2019 is happening 1-2 June and is brought to you by the University of Huddersfield Students’ Union, working in collaboration with the LGBTQ+ community both on and off campus and with organisations all across Kirklees.
As well as supporting and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community in Huddersfield, Huddersfield Pride aims to bring all people together, increase understanding, and make sure everybody knows that Huddersfield is a place to be proud.
The main festivities will start at 12pm on Sunday 2 June at the Lawrence Batley Theatre, families welcome! Stay tuned to find out about all of the events happening across the town centre over the weekend.

Brighouse 1940s weekend 2019
Go and see what life was like in this significant time in our history as the Brighouse town centre and shops are transformed. You’ll be able to sit in a Messerschmitt, see Churchill, learn to dance the Lindy Hop or dance the night away with the Ashby Big Band.
This is just a flavour of the wonderful events taking place over this family fun weekend. The whole town centre will become the venue for a host of 1940’s events and displays from Spitfires to vintage vehicles, from home cooking to 1940’s dress and make up.
Why not join in the fun and dress in 40’s style and help bring a real period feel to the town.

Sweet Caroline – A tribute to Neil Diamond
The good times never seemed so good… introducing Sweet Caroline, the ultimate tribute to Neil Diamond featuring Gary Ryan, as seen on ‘Stars in Their Eyes’.
Taking it back to where it began, this musical journey celebrates 50 years of a legend. From Brooklyn to Hollywood, Neil Diamond has left a legacy of great songs which have been covered by every great vocalist. Spanning all genres from the Reggae of Red Red Wine, through the Country of Cracklin’ Rosie, and the Hollywood music of The Jazz Singer.
From the producers of Fastlove, Islands in the Stream and The Magic of Motown, celebrate the music that has endured through six generations as we bring you all things Diamond with a sensational live show.

Doggy Dash For Life 2019
A fun charity event for all the family in Huddersfield!
Doggy Dash is a sponsored 3.5 km dog walk around the beautiful Beaumont Park in Huddersfield, in aid of Cancer Research UK and RSPCA Huddersfield, Halifax, Bradford & District Branch.
Dashers are challenged to go out and get as much sponsorship as possible from friends, family and colleagues – all to go towards our two worthy causes. Competitors can walk, jog or run the route with their dogs. Each entry will receive a rosette for each dog and a goodie bag with treats and toys.
There will also be a fun dog show, a raffle, plus stalls and activities to enjoy, making it a great day out.
The event is kindly sponsored by Calder Vets and our dog show sponsor is Cobbydog.

Classic Car Rally and Craft Fair at Oakwell
Admire the shining lines of a wide range of lovely classic cars set out on the front lawn of the Hall.
This event is organised by the Yorkshire Rover Club. There is also a craft fair today in the Oakwell Barn.
