Almondbury Library has moved into its new building. We are inviting the community to join us at the official launch for an open day on Saturday, 13th July from 10am to 4pm. What’s it all about?

The open day is a great chance for people in the area to have some fun with all of the family in the library grounds and to see the library and its new facilities. This action-packed day will be full of exciting things to do with a wide range of activities on offer for all and the events and activities are totally FREE!

What free family-friendly activities will there be?

Imagination gaming will be there throughout the day. There will be lots of different games for both adults and children alike! These games are fun, educational and give children a chance to learn whilst having a great time!

You can find out more about Imagination Gaming on their website or watch this video.

Anything else?

Join us on a space journey across the galaxy with Fair and Funky, they use recyclable materials to create and play. Don’t just take our word for it!

Sue from Totties Garden Centre said;

“The fairandfunky workshops are great fun and teach children the importance of looking after the environment around them. Each child can take their creation home to put in their own garden.”

You can find out more on their website (or just come along on the day and see it for yourself)

There will also be a Science session, music by drumalou as well as games to occupy your little ones such as giant Jenga.

  • Sensible use of council resources- just make the reality an improvement on the predecessor in terms of stock,facilities and opening hours. I enquired about volunteering at Stocks Walk last year but was treated indifferently by the (salaried) librarian despite the very restricted opening hours operating.
