Holmfirth Artweek 2019

One of the UK’s Largest Open Art Exhibitions, Featuring over 400 exhibitors and over 2,000 artworks, plus dozens of fringe venues across the local area with thousands more works of art and craft.

Holmfirth Artweek is a local event with a national reputation. The majority of the exhibitors are from this area but large numbers of visitors come from all over the country to view and to buy. It is astounding how much artistic talent there is locally and it is this that makes the event such a success every year.

As Holmfirth Artweek is a fundraising event, all work submitted must be for sale. A commission of 20% is charged on sales in the Exhibition, the Market & the Fringe with all proceeds being donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.

When is it?

  • Friday 12 July 2019 – 10:00am – 9:00pm
  • Saturday 13 July 2019 – 10:00am – 5:00pm

New Almondbury Library – official launch day

Almondbury Library has moved into its new building. We are inviting the community to join us at the official launch for an open day.

The open day is a great chance for people in the area to have some fun with all of the family in the library grounds and to see the library and its new facilities. This action-packed day will be full of exciting things to do with a wide range of activities on offer for all and the events and activities are totally FREE!

  • Saturday 13 July 2019- 10:00am to 4:00pm

Castle Hill Litter Pick Day

Open to anyone who wishes to come along and help litter pick on Castle Hill and make this Local Nature Reserve once again fit for wildlife and visitors to enjoy! Gloves, litter pickers, bags and refreshments will be provided on the day.

  • Friday 12 July 2019 – 10:00am – 12:00pm

Music on the Greenhead Park Bandstand

The ever-popular Hade Edge Band will be stepping out onto the bandstand on Sunday 14 July to entertain visitors with some great brass band music in the beautiful surroundings of Huddersfield’s premier park.

Why not make it a real day out and bring a picnic, or grab some refreshments at the nearby cafe or kiosk. As usual there’ll be some seating available or bring your own folding chairs or rugs.

Mirfield Arts Festival 2019

Mirfield Arts Festival 2019 will be the fourth edition: bringing vibrant, exciting and hugely entertaining contemporary arts to Mirfield town centre.

The 2019 Edition will include a wide variety of activities from performances to poetry, exciting exhibitions, demonstrations & drop-in sessions, wonderful workshops, an adventurous selection of outdoor art activities.

Plus of course, Mirfield Carnival Parade – the fabulous festival finale!!!
