Students across Kirklees are celebrating good news in their A-Level and vocational results.

This year over 6,000 young people took A-Levels in Kirklees schools and colleges, with early figures showing a pass rate of 97.2 per cent. The pass rate for vocational qualifications is 98 per cent.

Cllr Viv Kendrick, Cabinet member for Children, said:

“We are proud of these young people as they move towards exciting new opportunities.

I’m delighted that so many have been rewarded for the dedication they have shown in their studies.

We have excellent schools and colleges across Kirklees which help our young people to have high aspirations and achieve well.

A-Levels are just one of the pathways available to school leavers and we know many other people have been successful in the post-16 routes they chose to take.

These young people will be crucial in supporting a sustainable economy for Kirklees over many years to come. We wish them all the best for whichever route they choose to take next.”
