Kirklees Concert Season Christmas Concerts

The Kirklees Concert Season has a delightful choice of concerts in store for you this Christmas.

What can you expect?

The Season’s lunchtime concerts see the return of the University of Huddersfield Brass Band Christmas Spectacular performed at both Huddersfield Town Hall on Monday 9 December (1pm) and Dewsbury Town Hall on Wednesday 11 December (12.30pm) – treating you to a collection of holiday classics, Yuletide greats and audience carols too.

Also, back by popular demand, Gordon Stewart is joined by the Huddersfield Boys’ and Girls’ Choirs in a programme of Christmas music from around the world for his concert on Monday 23 December (1pm).  With Gordon playing the grand Father Willis Organ, carols for all to sing, and the beautiful voices of the young choirs, this is a concert not to miss.

On Wednesday 11 December at 6pm in Huddersfield Town Hall, The Orchestra of Opera North present their family friendly concert “The Nutcracker and The Snowman”, two enchanting Christmas tales for the whole family, told through music, narration and animation.

The Opera North Christmas Concert takes place in Dewsbury Town Hall on Thursday 12 December at 7.30 pm.  Heavenly voices and beloved orchestral pieces will bring a wonderful addition to your Christmas festivities as the Orchestra are joined on stage by the Company’s Chorus and Youth Choirs – you will also have the chance to sing along!

Finally the Viennese Whirl sees out the old year and welcomes in the new in spectacular style at Huddersfield Town Hall on Monday 30 December at 3pm when you can expect an afternoon brimming with much-loved melodies, lively polkas and sparkling songs.
