Awarding our inspiring young employees

Four of our young employees have received special awards celebrating their commitment, innovation and ambition in helping Kirklees Council deliver high-quality services for local residents and communities.

On Wednesday 5 February at University of Huddersfield, four of the brightest sparks in our organisation were awarded with Young Employee Awards. The event, hosted by Andy Mycock from University of Huddersfield, celebrated the valuable contribution of young council employees.

The winners were nominated by staff across the council and chosen by members of our Young Employee Network.

Cllr Leader Shabir Pandor said:

As an organisation we want our young employees to achieve their aspirations and build a career in Kirklees. They are the future of our workforce so it’s vital that we invest in their development to ensure we have the skills we need to deliver our ambitious plans.

“A recent peer review of the council, which was carried out by independent experts, praised the passion of our workforce and their commitment to making a positive difference. These awards are just one example of how we celebrate the efforts of our hard working staff. I’m really proud of our award winners and the Young Employee Network for the work they put into making Kirklees a diverse and inclusive place to work.”
