The Tiger Who Came To Tea – family show

Direct from the West End, the Olivier Award nominated smash hit show, The Tiger Who Came to Tea returns on tour, celebrating over 10 years on stage!

The doorbell rings just as Sophie and her mummy are sitting down to tea. Who could it possibly be? What they certainly don’t expect to see at the door is a big, stripy tiger!

Don’t Bother – stand-up poetry

A stand-up poetry show about dead rabbits, chocolate, and nostalgia.

Multi-award winning performance poet and alumnus of the Durham Revue, Bróccán Tyzack-Carlin presents a semi-coherent exploration of nothing in particular using some words that rhyme and some more that don’t. Blending surreal humour with storytelling and spoken word, Don’t Bother is a unique hour of comedy that is not to be missed.

Into The Groove – The Ultimate Tribute to Madonna

Huddersfield Repair Café

The Huddersfield Repair Café returns on Saturday 14 March, 11am – 3pm in Queensgate Market (Demo Zone). The Repair Café takes place on the second Saturday of the month and their fixers have their, screwdrivers at the ready!

The Repair Café aims to reduce the amount of items thrown away by matching volunteer fixers with your broken items, but don’t fix anything which could be repaired by stalls in the market (phones/ watch straps/ shoes/ clothing repairs etc). If you have garden tools that need sharpening bring them along and get ready for spring.

On this Saturday there will also be an opportunity to make fabric flower brooches for Mother’s Day from scrap fabric, turn old t-shirts into reusable shopping bags and old jumpers into cosy cushion covers. No need to book or pay, just drop in and get upcycling!

Queen of Crime and Strictly bestseller to feature in this year’s Huddersfield Literature Festival

The programme for this year’s Huddersfield Literature Festival has been announced, with an exciting line-up of talks, workshops and free family events.

From Strictly sparkle to literary lectures and from crime royalty to free family events, the programme for this year’s Huddersfield Literature Festival is one of the most varied to date. Taking place in venues in and around Huddersfield, HLF2020 runs from 19-29 March, with a theme of ‘The Creative Mind’.
