Worried about paying your rent? Support for tenants

The current global situation is having a significant impact on local lives and that people are understandably concerned about their financial situation, especially how they will pay their rent.
We remain committed to preventing homelessness and helping to protect people from poverty, and as such are currently working on our wider community support offer which we will be announcing in the next week.
We can, however, reassure you that no tenants will be evicted as a direct result of Coronavirus (Covid-19).
Council tenants
For many of our tenants, this may be the first time they have had to take advantage of the support on offer so we wanted to let them know how to get in touch if they are struggling.
Both Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing and Pinnacle offer a very supportive service to their tenants to help them manage their rent account and deal with any rent arrears. If you are concerned or struggling to pay please get in touch as early as possible and so we can give you the individual support you need.
If you live in a KNH property:
Please visit our website to find more information on how to get in touch.
For tenants supported by Pinnacle:
T: 0330 0361517
This is 24 hours, 365-day helpdesk telephone service for all repairs and housing management related issues.
E: kirklees.housing@pinnaclegroup.co.uk
We would encourage any tenant finding themselves facing difficulties paying their rent to contact KNH/Pinnacle
Private tenants
The government has also announced support for tenants who live in privately rented accommodation.
