Important information about schools over the Easter holidays
Do you have a child who is still attending school because they are classed as vulnerable or because of your status as a key worker?
If so, please note that – in line with government guidance – schools in Kirklees are being asked to stay open during the upcoming Easter holidays.
In normal circumstances, if the Covid-19 crisis was not creating so many issues for all of us, schools would have been closing to all pupils from this Friday (April 3rd) until Monday April 20th for the Easter holidays.
Schools are being asked to stay open
However, schools are being asked to stay open so that children who are eligible to attend can continue doing so. This is designed to support vulnerable children and to ensure key workers are able to continue providing vital services.
We are working closely with schools across the district and we know many of them are already contacting parents whose children remain in school. Schools which are staying open will discuss your plans and arrangements, and the support your family needs, during the two-week holiday period.
What should I do if my child is still attending school and I have not been contacted?
If your child is still attending school and you have not yet been contacted, our advice is to get in touch with your school directly as soon as possible.
