Community Environmental Support Officer goes the extra mile

Whilst many of us were celebrating VE Day at home, Dianne Watkinson, Community Environmental Support Officer in Dewsbury was out and about in the area checking in on local residents she knows are vulnerable.
It was then when two urgent calls came into the Dewsbury Hub. One resident urgently needed a prescription whilst the other, an elderly resident, in need of a food parcel.
Unfortunately, there had been an issue with the clients’ details and the team at Hub was unable to contact them via phone. Without hast, Dianne made her way across town to Liversedge, an area she doesn’t normally cover, to check on the residents who were grateful for her knock at the door.
Following her welfare visits, she was able to help co-ordinate the arrangements to meet their needs, and in doing so, establish long term solutions to their welfare needs.
Staff at the HUBS said,
“Without her support we would have been lost and the clients would not have had their needs met. Dianne is always willing to go above and beyond to get the job done and support the community in any way she can.”
Thank you, Dianne, you really are a local hero!
