About Flyntlock Bones

Welcome to the Black Hound – a ship full o’ the cleverest pirate investigators ya ever set eyes upon. The captain pauses. You OK, lad? Ya gone paler than a full moon.

When Flynn applies for the job of cabin boy on the Black Hound, he doesn’t expect it to be a pirate ship! But soon he’s setting sail for the Seven Seas, on a perilous quest to recover ancient treasure bound by a magical curse.

Get Involved

This week, our special guest Derek has asked you to draw your very own pirate character…

Pick a name for your pirate, Derek was inspired by Sherlock Holmes so you could have a look at one of your books and change the characters names a bit. You could even give your character attributes – this means explaining what they are like as a person and what they enjoy doing in their spare time.

Get some inspiration from your favourite pirate books or films, like Flyntlock Bones or Pirates of the Caribbean. Watch the latest Library Adventures Live to see lots of pirate illustrations and hear about how Derek names his characters.
