The Challenge

This week’s challenge is to create a believable villain – Ross sets out the challenge and gives some great tips in this YouTube clip.

“I love to write the bad guys, it’s great to create a villain” … Creating a villain can be fun, but why? Villains are usually complex characters and to be believable, they must believe that what they are doing is right.

Take Shadow Jack for example, he isn’t just a bad guy, He makes the decisions he makes because they are justified in his own mind.

What got Shadow Jack to where he is today? What made him become a villain?

Your challenge

  • Create your own villain who is rounded, what is their reason for doing what they are doing? Why do they think they have to be bad? Do they think they ARE bad?
  • Describe their looks, but concentrate more on their personality, what they want to achieve and why they want to achieve it.

Once you’ve created your believable villain, send it in to LAL@kirklees.gov.uk.

In the email, include the name of the participant, their age, and your permission to use on Kirklees Libraries website and our social media channels, if you are happy for us to do so.
