Community engagement activities to start for new build library

We’re seeing good progress on the new £799k community library for the residents of Birkby and Fartown.
Community engagement
Kirklees Libraries have now commissioned Edgelands Arts to deliver an exciting, creative consultation with the local community in the Birkby and Fartown areas. Together they will explore key questions on what the new library service offer will look like. They will engage with local people of all ages, encouraging participants to share their ideas while collaborating on a creative project. The finished artwork will provide a wonderful record to showcase the voices, hopes, and ambitions of these communities and the role their new library will have in their midst.
There will also be a short survey to collate feedback on what access times would work for local residents and what types of activities they would like to see on future programmes.
A glimpse of the future
In the meantime, here are some of the artists impressions to show what the library may look like.
