Support for new businesses with the Start-Up Programme
The programme is open to all businesses in the Kirklees area who have been trading for under three years as well as people considering starting a new business. It will offer a variety of free support to help small businesses take the next step.
The Start-Up Programme includes an initial 121 meeting with a specialist advisor, online workshops, and fact sheets covering marketing, finance and other key themes. It also includes support navigating key Council services, searching for property, and 8-hours of mentoring for eligible businesses.
Councillor Peter McBride, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said:
“Small businesses are vital to the local economy and we want to support them to recover and thrive, especially during this challenging period. At the same time, as the economic effects of the pandemic become clearer, sadly many people may well lose their jobs. Some may naturally consider self-employment – and we want to ensure those people can easily access the advice and support they need.
The Start-Up Programme is an excellent opportunity for new businesses in Kirklees and sits perfectly alongside the business support that is on offer for more established businesses or those start-ups with high growth potential. We want small businesses to know that the council will help you.”
