Help us to plan future housing and support around you

The communities in Kirklees have more ethnic diversity than those in similar areas. With your help, we can make sure that there are homes that meet the needs of all our communities.

We want to hear from you!

Today (17th May) we are launching a research study and would like to hear from anyone 45 years or older and from an ethnic minority background living in Kirklees.

Plans are in place to create more homes and this study will help us to better influence new developments like those at Dewsbury Riverside and Bradley Park, Huddersfield to reflect the diverse needs of our communities. Your input will help us influence the planning and delivery of a range of housing and support options that reflect what you say is needed.

In particular, we want to hear from people of South Asian and African or African Caribbean heritage, which make up significant communities in the district.  Whether you are living in your own home, privately renting, living with family members, in a council property, a housing association property or anywhere else, we would like to hear your thoughts.

As a thank you for taking part, we have four £50 shopping vouchers to give away.

We have appointed independent researchers, the Housing Learning and Improvement Network (Housing LIN) to carry out this work. They are leading experts in carrying out research on housing, health and social care issues with many local authorities across the UK.
