Celebrating our Armed Forces
Armed Forces Day on Saturday 26 June will be marked across Kirklees when the Armed Forces Day flag is raised above all our Town Halls to show our support.
Armed Forces Day
Armed Forces Day in the United Kingdom is an annual celebration giving people the opportunity to show their support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community which includes serving troops, service families, veterans, and cadets.
In previous years members of the public, veterans, councillors, and Force’s personnel have been invited to join the flag raising ceremonies. However due to the coronavirus pandemic public gatherings are not possible this year.
We are proud to be sharing videos, stories and information from our Armed Forces families across our social media channels.

Cllr. Patrick, Mayor of Kirklees said:
“I very much hope that people will join me in marking the start of Armed Forces Week across Kirklees by Saluting Our Forces. It is important that we acknowledge their contribution and show our support for our armed forces, veterans old and young and their families.”
