It’s going to be a Spooktacular Halloween this half term. With a variety of family events and activities across Kirklees – find out what’s happening near you.

Most of these activities are of little to no cost, where there are charges the information is displayed below.

Saturday 23 October

Maker World Halloween drop-in activities
11 am -3 pm

Join them for crafty Halloween sessions with lots of spooky activities and creativity for all.

Visit Oakwell this half term for our spooky season Hallowe’en Trail – pick up an activity bag at the Visitor Centre Shop for £2.50 per bag.

Sunday 24 October

Monday 25 October

Make Halloween parade costumes and masks.

Workshops to make Halloween parade costumes and masks. Open to those ages 5-7 from 10.30 am – 12 pm and then from 1.30 pm – 3.30 pm for those aged 8-13 years.
Location: Piazza – Huddersfield Town Centre

Pumpkin Carving
10 am – 4 pm

Come along to our pumpkin patch, pick your favourite pumpkin and carve it while you’re here. Wheelbarrows available to hire (limited number available, first come first served). Carving will be undercover on the lawn, so no need to worry about the weather though wellies are advised – it can get muddy! Open to all ages and parental supervision required at all times.
Location: Cliffe House, 140 Lane Head Road, Huddersfield, HD8 8DB.
Pumpkins are £5.50 each.

Join in our Halloween Themed fun family trail around the grounds of Cliffe House. The trail is family-friendly. When you have collected all the clues don’t forget to return to the food kiosk to collect your prize (1 prize per paid trail sheet). Pre-book online or turn up on the day.

Join award-winning storyteller Ursula Holden Gill as she tells of Jack’s ongoing quest to please his mum and meet all the magical friends and creatures that help or hinder his journey.

Cliffe House Under 16s Fancy Dress Competition

Come along dressed in your best Halloween outfit, show us your scariest face, and you could win a special prize! Winners will be picked at 2 pm. Under 16s only. No booking is required.

The spectacle of walkabout entertainment, spot the giant Jabberwocky, get spooked by the Gargoyle and experience giant Halloween puppets lurking in the piazza.
