Slumber Stories: Bringing bedtime stories to life with Kirklees Libraries

A series of intimate, live performances of diverse storytelling are being held across Kirklees Libraries. Designed to help create a tranquil bedtime ritual for the whole family.

Live storytelling

Weaving stories and music from around the world, families can enjoy and relax to a tapestry of cross-cultural literary experiences, embracing and creating a calm and mindful night-time routine.

The stories will also be available as podcasts to continue the experience at home.

These free events have been commissioned by Kirklees Libraries and will be performed by Dewsbury based creatives, Manasamitra. You can find out more about them on their website. 

Where are the events happening?

Events are taking place throughout October and November at library buildings across Kirklees.

  • 25 October, 6pm at Batley Library
  • 28 October, 6pm at Greenwood Centre, Ravensthorpe
  • 29 October, 6pm at Birkby and Fartown Library
  • 24 November, 6pm at Birstall Library
  • 25 November, 6pm at Almondbury Library
