The events aim to strengthen a workforce that has faced unprecedented challenges before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jobs to explore

Visitors can explore roles in supported living, residential and domiciliary care as well as community specialist care where they could be supporting people with mental health, learning and physical disabilities.  Staff already doing these roles will be available to share their experiences about working in social care.

Additional support will be available from In2Care Kirklees and Works Better Together. Who can guide people through the application and interview process.

Councillor Musarrat Khan, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care said:

“Our social care workforce are our unsung heroes and a career in social care is like no other.

As we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to further strengthen and develop our adult social care workforce so care providers are able to support residents with the care they need to live well and independently for as long as possible.  I hope these recruitment events will be the start of new talent joining a rewarding career in adult social care in Kirklees”.
