Partnership working to tackle anti-social behaviour

Housing and tenant Involvement and engagement officers joined by West Yorkshire Police, community plus, Safer Kirklees and the Environmental Health team.

Homes and Neighbourhoods organised an action day after Heckmondwike residents raised concerns about anti-social behaviour.

Tenants on Cairn Court on Fairmoor Way came together to discuss the issue. They were joined by different partners who wanted to listen to residents and identify any actions to be taken.

Homes and Neighbourhoods housing officers as well as tenant involvement and engagement officers joined forces with Community Plus, West Yorkshire Police and Safer Kirklees to help tackle the issues.

The day resulted in the council’s Environmental Health team (Pollution and Noise) taking action on a noisy neighbour.

We want tenants to feel safe and happy in their homes and we take reports of anti-social behaviour very seriously. Taking a partnership approach allowed tenants to be heard and helped us work towards creating a nicer place to live.
