Berry Brow Information Day

The team holding a banner

Our Homes and Neighbourhoods teams joined forces to listen to the tenants of Berry Brow high rise flats when an information day was held to talk about future plans for the buildings.

Speaking to residents

More than half the residents living in Bishops Court and Holme Park Court, turned up for the event to speak to members of staff about any questions or express concerns.

Teams talked to tenants about the planned works for Berry Brow and the support they will receive during the moving out process.

New housing scheme

It comes as it was decided, after consulting with tenants in 2021, the two blocks will be demolished, and a new housing scheme will be built which requires all tenants to move out of their homes.

It is expected to take around two years for all tenants to be rehoused and the moving out will be carried out in phases, with five floors at a time.

Information packs were also handed out to tenants explaining the planned stages, as well as the process for both blocks. The packs also include information on what each tenant is entitled to.

Employment support

Tenants were also able to speak with the employment support team who were on hand to give advice. A number of referrals to the team were made on the day, and they will support these tenants in to work or education.

Further events planned

This event was the first of many for tenants of Berry Brow, with further sessions being planned in the future for those who were not able to attend.
