Week 2, 1-7 August:
Archery lessons
Join our activity instructors in learning how to draw the arrow, balance the bow & fire at a distance target – Challenge your family members as to who can score the greatest points. All under cover so no need to worry about damp conditions.

Pond dipping
Explore the ponds in the grounds of Cliffe House, looking out for minibeasts, bugs, and all kinds of pond life, all while learning about the environment.

Mine Experience
Explore this new experience at Cliffe House, where you navigate your way through a series of narrow passages, junctions, climbs and drops.

Bushcraft
Book on for our fantastic instructor led bushcraft activity. This is the perfect family activity for all to sit around a campfire toasting marshmallows, making & cooking your own garlic bread twist, all washed down with a warming hot chocolate. Please advise us of any special dietary requirements. No need to worry about the damp conditions – this session is based under cover within our woodland.

Woodcraft
Using traditional woodcraft tools you will learn to construct a woodland sculpture to take home with you. A fun filled instructor led session with all equipment provided.

Dinosaur hunt
Join us in our library hunting grounds for a roarsome chase to find and contain the escaped Dinosaurs and return them inside the book before it’s too late!

Rappaman – book launch and RAP workshop
An exciting book launch event, with a chance to see Rappaman performing poems and Raps from his newest book “Read Aloud Proudly”. You’ll then get the chance to learn how to write your own RAPs, as Rappman leads a poetry and Rap masterclass!

Books and Bugs Story Trails
Celebrate the wonder of nature and the pleasure of being outdoors on our summer story trails. Tim Hopgood’s My Big Book of Outdoors is the inspiration for our fun family picture trail and bug hunt this summer.
Recommended for families with children up to age 8.

Emley Show 2022
A great family day out! The Emley Show is a great agricultural day out in Yorkshire. The amazing location ‘beneath the mast’ in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside allows families and exhibitors alike to enjoy a wide range of activities, agricultural events, country crafts, family entertainment and competitions.
