Knowl Park House – Build update December 2022
Here’s the latest from our new dementia day care facility build in Mirfield.
What’s been happening?
The bulk dig on site has now finished which means most of the ‘muddy work’ is now over. The drainage works for the main sewer diversion are also complete and the focus is now on pouring concrete to lay the foundations of the new building.
And the eagle-eyed amongst you will notice our fantastic new hoardings on site that show what the inside of the new building will look like.
Careers in construction
As well as progressing with the build, contractors Tilbury Douglas attended careers events at Mirfield Free Grammar and Mirfield College last month. They spoke to students about careers in construction and from next year will be offering work placements and site visits to inspire the next generation of construction professionals.
What’s coming up?
Next up on the plan is the installation of the retaining wall and more exciting will be the installation of the steel frame. Once this starts to go up people will be able to see the actual size and scale of the new dementia day care facility.
