Could an apprenticeship start or progress your career?
Our vision for Kirklees is to have a strong economy with a great quality of life. Leading to thriving communities, growing businesses, high prosperity, and low inequality where people enjoy better health throughout their lives. To achieve this, we need a diverse and talented workforce.
Apprenticeships with Kirklees Council
At Kirklees Council we run highly rated apprenticeship programmes, which allow you to earn, learn and build a successful career. You will learn from experienced staff in the workplace. Through undertaking an industry recognised qualification and benefit from our extensive wraparound support. We offer a competitive salary, with access to our staff benefits, pensions, employee networks and wellbeing packages.
Each year we offer wide-ranging opportunities here at the council from trades, office-based and outdoor work to technical and specialised roles.
Our roles are suitable for all ages, from school and college leavers to those looking to re-train into a different career. We also offer opportunities for graduates through our higher-level apprenticeship programme.
Councillor Paul Davies, Cabinet Member for Corporate, says:
“Apprenticeships allow us to bring a diverse range of talent into the council that otherwise we may not be able to access. This is important so that we can not only deliver great outcomes, but so we can also bring diversity of thought into the council. We are also able to use apprenticeship opportunities to develop our existing staff members, enabling them to have a fulfilling and meaningful career.”
