Invite the Mayor to your Coronation event

The coronation of his majesty the king and her majesty queen consort

The Coronation of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen Consort takes places during a weekend of special events on 6–8 May.

To mark the momentous occasion, the Mayor of Kirklees wants to visit as many Coronation events as possible.

If you are holding a party for the Coronation Big Lunch on Sunday or celebrating the work of volunteers for the Big Help Out on Monday, the Civic Office wants to hear from you.

The Coronation weekend and the build up to it will be a remarkable occasion so why not make it extra special with a visit from the Mayor to join in your festivities and promote what you are doing.

The Mayor of Kirklees, Councillor Masood Ahmed, said:

“The Coronation of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen Consort is a truly historic event and milestone for the UK and the Commonwealth.

“Our communities always unite, whether in times of difficulties or in celebration and the Coronation is certainly a time for all of us to come together and commemorate such a special occasion.

“Kirklees is a place of different cultures and heritage and I am sure the events taking place will be full of colour, fun, delicious food and music. This is something I want to be part of and visit as many places and meet as many people as possible which make our Borough so special.”
