We are joining the nationwide conversation about numbers by hosting our own The Big Number Natter event to celebrate National Numeracy Day.

Where is the event?

The event takes place at the Huddersfield Hudawi Centre on Tuesday 16th May between 9am and 1pm.

What is the Big Number Natter?

The Kirklees Big Number Natter is a chance for you to talk about your experience with maths. This is an opportunity to get advice and support on becoming more confident with numbers. There will be loads of activities throughout the event with some prizes up for grabs, including £20 vouchers for some lucky winners!

Furthermore, members of staff from our Multiply programme will be on hand. Talking about how we can support you to include maths more in your daily life. This could include improving household finances, helping children with homework, making more sense of the facts in the media, or improving numeracy skills specific to a line of work.

You will also get the opportunity to talk with some past and present participants. They can help reassure you that numbers aren’t so scary!

How else can you get involved?

Speaking about numeracy doesn’t need to just be limited to The Big Number Natter! As part of our Multiply programme, we have lots of free courses to help. These can build your confidence when it comes to using maths in your day-to-day life. All adults (19 years and over) who do not have a level 2 qualification in maths (GCSE Grade C/Grade 4) are eligible to access free support from Multiply.
