Stay active and “Walk This May” with Living Streets National Walking Month

Do it your way and walk this may

Walking is an easy and accessible way to improve physical and mental health and a 20-minute walk can reduce the risk of some preventable health conditions, including certain cancers, depression, heart disease and Type 2 diabetes.

Become a Walk Leader

Join our community of over 1000 walk leaders with free training and support form Everybody Active Kirklees. With new walking routes created and maintained in rural and urban neighbourhoods, we’re making it easier for residents to be more active.

Wellbeing Walks

Starting at Greenhead Park, Batley Wilton Park, Dewsbury Crow Nest Park, Slaithwaite Library, along with new walks in Ravensthorpe and Mirfield, the leader led walks are suitable for all abilities and take between 30 minutes to an hour.  Routes are generally flat, and you can go at your own pace. A great way to meet new people, enjoy the spring air and feel good.

Here what has been said about jour walks:

“I just wanted to say thank you for a lovely walk today. It was a literal breath of fresh air and thoroughly enjoyed by myself. I know we will be back next week.”

“Really look forward to the walk, you make everyone feel at ease and I feel so much better for it.”

“I love coming to the walk, it gives me a reason to get out of bed whereas I wouldn’t be motivated to do anything otherwise. “
