Local Studies Library and Kirklees Transcription Service now open

People can once again visit the Local Studies Library and Kirklees Transcription Service as they open doors from the new interim location on Monday 15 May.
Both services will be available from the former Argos unit on Victoria Lane which has been refurbished.
What’s available?
Local Studies Library hold a large collection of books and other material such as maps, photographs and local newspapers relating to the Kirklees area. They also hold subscriptions to specialist information websites on behalf of customers. There are also plenty of resources to help people find information on family and local history or trace relatives and obtain copies of certificates.
Kirklees Transcription Service support people who have difficulty reading printed material. Services include transcription into alternative formats, a talking newspaper, plus advice and information.
The space will also be shared with the West Yorkshire Archive Service.
