Kirklees Partners and Professionals Help to Prioritise Actions for the Climate Change Action Plan
Last Thursday, we held a workshop for partners and professionals to participate in the prioritisation of actions needed for the next steps of the Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP).
Focusing on the 206 potential actions highlighted in the CCAP, the workshop, held at Huddersfield Town Hall, was another step on our journey towards a Net Zero and Climate Ready Kirklees.
During the session, delivery partners and professionals took part in a decision-making workshop to help choose the highest priority actions for each of their sectors, buildings, energy, natural environment and biodiversity, sustainable food and agriculture, transport, waste, water and cross-cutting. These actions will now be taken forward into the business case development stage before funding and implementation.
Councillor Naheed Mather, Cabinet Member for Culture and Greener Kirklees, said:
“On behalf of the Climate Change Team, I’d like to thank everyone who took the time out of their day to attend the workshop. It was fantastic to see representatives from around 80 businesses, organisations, institutions, and agencies from across the borough who want to make a difference in Kirklees.
“From the beginning, residents and other stakeholders have played a key role in the development of the action plan. The ideas and actions discussed at this workshop will benefit all of Kirklees and contribute to our mission to reduce emissions and increase resilience.”
