Secondary school admissions – don’t miss the deadline!
If you are applying for a secondary school place for September 2024, remember the deadline is approaching fast.
Applications need to be made for children who are currently in primary school Year 6 or in middle school Year 8. The deadline for an on-time application is 11.59pm on Tuesday October 31st.
Parents are strongly advised to apply for three schools: a first, a second and a third preference. This is in case a place is not available at the first preference school.
It’s also advised that one of these schools is in your priority admission (catchment) area. To find your admission area, please visit the council website.
Applications received after the deadline are not considered until after all on-time applications have been processed. So applying late can severely reduce the chances of getting a place at one of your preferred schools.
