If you’re thinking about tying the knot, whatever ceremony you have in mind, head over to our Weddings and Civil Partnerships website for a comprehensive guide to your perfect celebrations, whatever your style or budget.
You might have already bought the matching ties and wedding bands, thought about the colour scheme and flower decorations but it’s important to remember the legal requirements too.
Notice of marriage
It is a legal requirement to give notice of the intention to marry or form a civil partnership. Couples are required to give at least 28 days’ notice, but not more than 12 months. In the district they live in regardless of where the ceremony will take place in England. Kirklees residents can book notice appointments online.
Ceremonies from as little as £46
Our ‘You plus 2’ ceremonies are perfect for anyone who wants to carry out the legal bits or holding a ceremony at a venue that is not approved. Available on Monday mornings only, they take place in our register office in Dewsbury Town Hall or our ceremony rooms in Huddersfield and Dewsbury Town Halls. Restricted to the couple getting married and two witnesses. Simple ceremonies | Kirklees Council
Bespoke ceremonies
