Knowl Park House – Build update April 2024
There’s excitement in the air as we move closer to the completion of our new dementia day care facilities.
What’s been happening?
Let’s start outside where the retaining walls to the main entrance and building entrance will soon be completed, and tarmac is on the way as the car park takes shape.
We have the power! Or we will when the newly installed power supply cable goes live enabling access to electricity, gas and water.

Contractors continue to work on the facias and soffits to the pitched roofs that can be seen from Crowlees Road.

Ceiling and floor works
Moving inside and work is ongoing to install the suspended and acoustic rendered ceilings. Vinyl is going in wet areas like the toilets as workmen start installing the floor finishes. Linked to this, the underfloor heating system has been used to finish the curing process of the screeding. This means this area is now ready for the installation of the final floor finish.

Ready to flush
An integrated plumbing system has been installed – this conceals the mains services, waste and toilet cisterns within a small void behind toilets, urinals and wash basins. Contractors have also installed the hygienic panel system in place of ceramic tiles.
There’s colour on the walls as painting and decorating continues and final fix items like sockets, switches, sinks and wet room items are on site and being installed.

Next up…
Work to the main entrance will finish and then any final snags will be dealt with. The last joinery items will be concluding and work on final finishes, such as floor coverings, will be starting.
