Knowl Park House – Build update August 2024

Knowl Park House

The end is in sight as we approach the completion of our new dementia day care facilities at Knowl Park House in Mirfield.

What’s been happening?

Contractors have been busy with work in the courtyard including laying the resin surface for the footpaths and within the courtyard itself.

External paving outside the main entrance nears completion.

Potting around

External lighting has been installed in the courtyard and soft landscaping is in progress ready for beautiful plants and flowers to be planted.

Installation of the terracotta panelling around the new building and the fascias and soffits is complete. Work has also finished on the curtain walling.

Movie magic

Internally the lighting inside the building is now being installed, including the specialist lighting in new cinema room so service users can enjoy some movie magic in a relaxing environment.

Mechanical and electrical final fixtures.

All the doors have been installed and furniture is now being brought into the new building.

Next up…

Contractors will be finishing the planting and installing the courtyard furniture and handrails.

As part of the final decorating the acoustic timber panels will be installed. People living with dementia can be sensitive to loud noises so these will provide an element of sound proofing and help dampen the sound in potentially noisy areas like reception.

Any outstanding mechanical and electrical systems works will also be completed.
