Eid al-Fitr celebrations return to Huddersfield Night Market
Huddersfield Market will once again host a special community event, on Friday 28 March 2025, to celebrate Chand Raat and the beginning of Eid celebrations.
The Apna Bazaar night market, in collaboration with Radio Sangam, is back by popular demand and will feature a variety of Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine, beverages, shopping, and live entertainment.
Chand Raat, which means ‘the night of the moon’, is a Muslim holiday celebrated at the end of Ramadan, on the eve of Eid al-Fitr. People of all faiths, or none, are invited to join the festivities at Huddersfield Market.
The event will include live entertainment hosted by Radio Sangam, a Community Iftar (the meal to break the fast), henna artists, and market stalls selling a wide range of South Asian goods, such as jewellery, hampers, gifts, fragrances, clothing, and more.
A delicious selection of Asian, Caribbean, and Middle Eastern foods, drinks, and sweet treats will be available to buy, catering to everyone, including those breaking their fast.
The Apna Bazaar Market will take place on Friday 28 March, from 4 pm till midnight, at Huddersfield Market, Brook Street, HD1 1RY
Anyone interested in taking a stall at the Apna Bazaar can contact the Markets team on 01484 225930 or email market.events@kirklees.gov.uk
This Chand Raat event is the first Apna Bazaar night market of 2025. The regular Apna Bazaar events will be back for the summer months.
