Kirklees Adult Learning Service rated ‘Good’ in latest Ofsted inspection
Our Adult Learning Service has been awarded a ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted, recognising the service’s dedication to providing high-quality education and support to adult learners.
Inspectors noted the inclusive nature of Kirklees Adult Learning, which engages with socially and economically disadvantaged adults.
The report highlights the service’s high-quality courses, strong support for learners, and effective Skills Bootcamps that help adults gain employment in high-demand industries.
Key highlights from the report include:
- Defined strategy: To provide high-quality courses to meet the needs of individuals and communities in Kirklees. They engage effectively with appropriate delivery partners.
- Well-supported learners: The provider ensures that learners receive the support they need to access courses that help them develop skills, knowledge, and confidence to secure employment.
- Engagement with disadvantaged groups: The service effectively reaches socially and economically disadvantaged adults in Kirklees, improving their well-being and employability.
- Strong safeguarding measures: Learners feel safe, and staff are well-trained in identifying and addressing safeguarding concerns.
- Effective communication: The staff use an array of skills, apply their learning from training, and use resources to maximise the learner’s ability to express their feelings.
Kirklees’ Skills Bootcamps came in for particular praise, these are fast-track training courses in early education, construction, textiles, digital marketing, and leadership and management. The inspection found that the bootcamps successfully equip learners with job-ready skills, boosting employment prospects and supporting the local economy.
