Connecting Kirklees: A snapshot of what’s happening on our highways this month
Here are some of the planned roadworks due to start in May. For details of all roadworks, head to our Roadworks webpage and view the live maps.
There can be lots of reasons for road works including resurfacing, making repairs, improving layouts, and replacing traffic signage and markings.
We also support other organisations to carry out essential works, for example utilities companies whose pipes and wires run under the roads and developers who need to change road access to complete works.
We also sometimes close a road or a lane because something has happened or is happening that makes it unsafe for vehicles or pedestrians to use.
Whatever the reason we aim to work as quickly and quietly as it is safe to do, to minimise the disruption to travellers and neighbouring properties.
