Yorkshire Celebration at Oakwell Hall is back and bigger than ever!
We invite residents and visitors to join together at Oakwell Hall & Country Park on Sunday 3 August 2025, for its biggest Yorkshire Day celebration yet. This free, family-friendly festival promises a vibrant day filled with music, food, creativity, and community pride in the heart of the historic parkland.
The much-loved annual event offers a packed programme of activities and entertainment for all ages, running from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM against the stunning backdrop of the Grade I listed Elizabethan manor and gardens.
Live Music and Entertainment
The main stage and gardens will showcase a lively lineup of local talent, featuring performances from Pat Fulgoni Yorkshire Blues Experience, Dhol Players & Band Baja, Flat Cap Brass, Helter Skelter (headline act), and more.
Showcasing the Best of Yorkshire Makers
The popular Yorkshire Makers’ Market returns, featuring over 50 stalls offering a diverse range of locally made products, including home-baked treats, cheeses, handcrafted jewellery, natural toiletries, unique pet accessories, small-batch gins, and creative gifts.
New for 2025: Interactive Nature & Play Field
This year, there will be a new Interactive Nature & Play Field where families can explore the outdoors with guided nature walks and nature-inspired crafts. Pif Paf will bring their “Right To Play,” a unique project combining theatre with play. This interactive experience creates a 20-meter diameter world of imaginative play and can accommodate hundreds of participants throughout the day.

Children’s Activities
Children and families can participate in den-building with the Children’s Art School, enjoy bushcraft activities with Fearless People, take balance bike sessions with Little Bikers, and get their faces painted. They can also meet animals at the petting farm and ride the entertaining rodeo sheep!

Creative Activities and Workshops
Visitors can participate in a special Artist in Residence workshop, decorating miniature ceramic books inspired by Yorkshire’s literary heritage. These creations will be part of a permanent art installation at Oakwell, celebrating the friendships among Charlotte Brontë, Ellen Nussey, Margaret Wooler, and Mary Taylor. Workshops will run from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and are open to all ages. Additionally, budding bakers are encouraged to enter the annual Cake-Off competition.
Food and Drink
A tempting selection of street food and refreshments will be available from various vendors, including Pizza Box Co, A Taste of Italy ice cream, Yorkshire Craft Beers, Istanbul Kitchen, and Oakwell’s own Willow Café. Visitors are also welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy the beautiful grounds.
