A snapshot of what’s happening on our highways in December 2025
December is a busy month for local communities as they gather together for the festive period with Christmas events, and visits from Santa and sometimes, for safety reason, roads will be closed. These closures are listed on the National Roadworks map and identified with a Santa hat.
Roadworks embargo
From 24 November 2025, planned works on the main highways in Dewsbury and Huddersfield town centres paused. Work in these areas will restart on 5 January 2026.
