If you’re a council tenant, you might be due a Home Assessment Visit. We have put together everything you need to know about the essential assessment and why we carry them out.
What’s included
One of our operatives will attend your home to carry out the assessment. Depending on what we’re looking for in a particular property, this might include, but isn’t limited to upgrades to your kitchen, bathrooms, heating systems, windows, or other important areas.
Pictures will be taken and any information found will be recorded by the operative. The operative will only take pictures of anything relevant to the survey.
If any repairs needed are identified during the visit, the project team will contact you directly to arrange a follow up appointment. Any serious hazards that could affect your health and/or safety will be reported immediately so we can arrange necessary work to make your home safe.
The visit is quick and non-intrusive. We’ll just need access to each room so we can get a clear understanding of your home’s future needs. No work will be carried out during the visit.
This visit is not an inspection of how you keep your home, and there is no need to prepare or make any changes before we attend.
