Connecting Kirklees: Roadworks update for July 2026

Roadworks

Here are some of the planned roadworks due to start in July. For details of all roadworks, head to our Roadworks webpage and view the live maps.

There can be lots of reasons for road works, including resurfacing, making repairs, improving layouts, and replacing traffic signage and markings.

We also support other organisations to carry out essential works, for example, utilities companies whose pipes and wires run under the roads, and developers who need to change road access to complete works.

Whatever the reason, we aim to minimise disruption and complete work as efficiently as possible.

Investing in our towns

Investment in transport infrastructure is key to our wider town centre project. From potholes to bus stations, we’re committed to developing better transport links to support our exciting regeneration schemes.
We have a number of transport schemes being delivered across Kirklees, including: Huddersfield Rail Station Connections; Huddersfield Southern Corridors; the A629 Halifax to Huddersfield.

For details of these schemes, head to the Connecting Kirklees major transport projects page.
