Here are some of the planned roadworks due to start in September. For details of all roadworks, head to our Roadworks webpage and view the live map.

There can be lots of reasons for road works including resurfacing, making repairs, improving layouts, and replacing traffic signage and markings.

We also support other organisations to carry out essential works, for example utilities companies whose pipes and wires run under the roads and developers who need to change road access.

Whatever the reason we aim to minimise disruption and complete work as efficiently as possible.

A629 – Halifax to Huddersfield

We’re making improvements to the A629, to help ease congestion and reduce journey times between Ainley Top roundabout and the Huddersfield Ring Road.

From Wednesday 16 to Thursday 1 October, Halifax Road, at the junction with Birkby Road and East Street will be resurfaced. Expect overnight closures, traffic management and follow diversions if you’re in the area.
