Demolition has started at Berry Brow flats. The first of the two high-rise blocks, Holme Park Court, is now coming down.

Last updated: 6 October 2026

What’s been happening?

Friday 25 September 2026

The high-reach excavator has been delivered and put together onsite, ready for demolition to start. It weighs more than 120 tonnes.

Wednesday 30 September 2026

Demolition of Holme Park Court started. The excavator is taking the block down from the top, piece by piece. Dust suppression is used to keep dust down.

Thursday 1 October 2026

The first balconies being removed from the top of Holme Park Court.

Friday 2 October 2026

Asbestos removal is now finished in Holme Park Court. It is continuing in Bishops Court.

What’s next?

The excavator will keep working down Holme Park Court over the next few weeks. Once it reaches around the fourth or fifth floor, smaller machines will finish the job.

We expect asbestos removal in Bishops Court to finish in early November. The excavator will then move across to start on the second block.
