We can now announce that the brand new Spen Valley Leisure Centre will open its doors to the general public on 28 February!

The beautiful weather this week has been much appreciated by the team at Spen Valley Leisure Centre Site. Progress is evident everywhere you look most excitingly in the externals.

Spen Valley Leisure Centre site is a hive of activity as usual, with much progress being made.

Work to build the new £15 million Spen Valley Leisure Centre is continuing at pace. This morning (10 March), Leader of Kirklees Council, Councillor Shabir Pandor, Councillor Graham Turner and Dawn Stephenson, Chair of Kirklees Active Leisure Board of Trustees, visited the site for a steel signing ceremony.

The construction team is on site and work has now officially begun to build the new £15m Spen Valley Leisure Centre.  This morning (11 June), Leader of Kirklees Council, Cllr Shabir Pandor, Cllr Graham Turner and Dawn Stephenson, Chair of Kirklees Active Leisure Board of Trustees, visited the site to witness the first dig by construction company Kier.

Building works for a new £15m leisure centre are due to commence this month (18 May) that will hugely improve the leisure offer for the residents in the Spen Valley.
