Ahead of this year’s national Dying Matters Awareness Week (8-14 May), Kirklees Libraries, The Kirkwood and Manasamitra – an artist-led organisation based in Dewsbury – are encouraging people to talk openly about death, dying, grief and loss as part of a recorded soundscape project.

We are progressing plans to remodel Buxton House, a high-rise block in Huddersfield town centre. Initial works are due to start in early 2025 and will result in the complete refurbishment of each flat to provide better living spaces with improved fire safety measures.
